Josefina Camus

Josefina is a Chilean artist living in London. Her interdisciplinary work explores performance and choreography as an act of synesthesia. She is interested in various resources: sculpture, experimental sound, video, light, and movement. All of this creates experiences that connect the body and its environment, expanding perceptual possibilities.

She is currently pursuing a PhD program in the Department of Fine Arts at Goldsmiths University of London, exploring the creation of energetic environments and studying the body as a container of polymorphic energies.

During this residency, Josefina will explore water and its transformation in various manifestations: condensation in the form of ice, evaporation in a gaseous state.

“The liquid that circulates in our body, the liquid that occupies the planet, the force of the sea and its currents. Flows of emotions, ideas, pulses pass through us, evaporate, humidify the environment, penetrate our pores. We sweat, we salivate, we water. We inhale, we inhale, and exhale the air that we no longer are.”
