Unstitching the Patterns is a research project that explores the possibility of a new practice of sewing. It proposes exercises and methods that challenge the dominant structures that still shape today’s clothing industry and the fashion system.

This collaborative project invites different collectives to reflect on, question, and deconstruct the symbolic authority of these structures, as well as their concrete influence on clothing design and dress codes.

Unstitching the Patterns is rooted in shared practices with artists and sexual dissidents, seeking to create spaces of dialogue where sewing becomes a tool for critical expression and reappropriation.
