The first collective reference work on filmmaker Jean-Daniel Pollet (1936-2004), Machine Pollet is also the outcome of a three-year research project conducted by filmmakers, artists, philosophers, and students across four art schools: École supérieure des beaux-arts de Nîmes, Haute école des arts du Rhin, École supérieure d’art Annecy Alpes, and École supérieure d’art de Clermont Métropole. Comprising essays, narratives, interviews, real and imagined dialogues, travel journals, and poetic and formal experiments, it is accompanied by ten films shot and edited during these three years.
La Centrale 22 hosted an evening screening of these films, presented by Bastien Gallet, in dialogue with students and collaborators.
The films produced during the research project are available here.
Machine Pollet is a double book: about and inspired by Pollet. Essays and interviews explore his vast and multifaceted oeuvre, aiming to renew and deepen its approach (ESBAN and Éditions MF).
